| perlQuestionnaire comes complete with a Perl web-based installation package. Simply upload all of the files in our distribution to your web server, visit the URL of your setup program (supplied in the documentation) and let our monster slaves take care of the rest. You will need to know a few things such as the database, username and password for your MySQL installation. These minor details will all be sufficiently explained in our excellent user manual. Furthermore, you must already have the DBI and DBD::MySQL modules installed. |

perlQuestionnaire allows you to run and queue multuple surveys at the same time. It will track the various results for separate surveys, even allowing you to specify optional starting and ending dates so you don't have to be around to activate or remove them.
Furthermore, perlQ was not designed to be used as a simple polling script. It allows you to define an unlimited number of questions and answers within each survey, even formatted in multiple pages. This is ideal for any in-depth survey you may create. |

Complete CSS and template customization |

Every user-viewable aspect of this program can be easily customized using a combination of both CSS and templates. The survey program can be called from within an existing page using server side includes to easily integrate into your site. It can also create a separate page using the template system and either a default template or one you supply/download.
perlQuestionnaire allows you to define survey-wide question and answer CSS styles, as well as individually fine-tuning the style and placement of each individual question/answer combination. All of these options make perlQ the perfect choice for seamless integration into your existing website. |

| Each survey you create with perlQ can be made up of any number of questions and answers, using varying styles for each. You may wish to have a multiple choice answer field for one question and a full text area for another. perlQ also allows you to define user-supplied 'Other' text fields for those answers with multiple choices, so your users don't have to settle for an inaccurate answer. The supported question types include: radio buttons, check boxes, select boxes (single and multiple), single line text inputs and full size text areas. |

Advanced user restrictions (IP, cookies, verified email) |

| Nobody likes getting duplicate survey submissions or bogus data. That is why the monsters at chumpsoft have gone to great lengths to allow you a variety of user restrictions for your survey. You can choose any or all of the following three options: IP Address (which attempts to block duplicate submissions from the same computer), Cookies (which attempts to block duplicate submissions from the same web browser) and even our most restrictive, but beneficial: Email Address Verification. That's right, by selecting the Email Verification option, you will be guaranteed that each survey has that user's valid email address attached. |

Preview entire surveys and individual questions |

| When creating your surveys, questions and answers with our web-based administration program you will be able to easily preview the progress at any stage. perlQ allows you to preview an individual survey complete with any error messages generated from uncompleted survey questions. Our question editor allows you to preview any single question within your survey, to make sure it appears as you desire. |

View summarized, detailed and individual survey results |

perlQuestionnaire excels when it comes to supplying you with the information a user has entered. After all, that's why you are buying our program. There are many ways in which you can view the survey results, depending on what works for you. There is a customizable summary listing of each survey response showing you the answers you feel are most important. Clicking on a specific line will take you to the survey that user has completed.
You may be interested in more than just the results for a specific user, however, and that is why perlQ also allows you to see the results for all users on a specific question. You can view these results one question at a time, one survey page at a time, or even the whole thing at once. Text input fields are neatly arranged so that you can browse and read what users have entered without feeling overwhelmed by thousands of responses. |

| On a survey-by-survey basis, you now have the option of choosing which surveys to make viewable to the public. You can also decide whether or not the survey taker goes directly to the results after having filled out the survey. A link that goes directly to the results can also be placed on the survey itself, making the survey optional prior to viewing the results. |

| Your survey results can now be downloaded in several different formats. We have included the CSV (Comma Separated Values) format, which is widely recognized by many different applications. Using this, you can import into Excel or another spreadsheet application and view or manipulate the data in any way you choose. We also have included the ability for you to download your results in the following additional file formats: XML (eXtensible Markup Language), XML Compressed, SQL (Structure Query Language) and Excel cell chart (for graphing purposes). |

Quickly backup and restore your entire database (v1.2) |

| perlQuestionnaire allows you to backup your entire database or an individual survey to a single file. You can later restore your database should a hard disk fail or your database become corrupted. You will be back up and running in minutes with no data lost from before your last backup. Furthermore, a survey export feature has been added so that you can easily swap surveys (without results) with other users of perlQ. |

Multiple language support for surveys and admin! (v2.0) |

| perlQuestionnaire includes the default English language pack. Using this package you can easily translate the software into other languages by changing only one file of text strings! As users translate perlQ and make available their modifications to us, we will post them on our web site for you to download. You can choose how much you want to translate -- from just the publicly viewable text strings all the way down to the help files included with the admin! You can also configure different surveys to run under different languages. |

Survey response email notifications to admins (v2.2) |

| You may now specify (optionally, per-survey) that a notification email is sent to one or more administrator email addresses each time the survey is completed. You can choose between either a short text-based email message that contains a link to the full results or a printer-friendly HTML message that contains the full content of the visitor's survey response. |

| We have included an online user manual of over 30 printed pages that covers all details and functionality of the perlQuestionnaire program. The best part about it, however, is that you may never need to read it! perlQ is extremely easy to install and operate. If you ever become confused, look no further than the in-program help, which can be found at any time by clicking the ? icon next to any configuration field. But rest assured, we have taken the time to document the program for users of all levels, beginner through advanced. |
